Switch emulator: Yuzu’s latest release fixes rendering issues

The development team behind Yuzu have shared some nice improvements thanks to developer epicboy, namely some pretty big rendering issues on AMD GPUs have been fixed. (see screenshots below)

What is Yuzu

yuzu is an experimental open-source emulator for the Nintendo Switch from the creators of Citra.

It is written in C++ with portability in mind, with builds actively maintained for Windows and Linux.

Emphasis on “experimental” here, the project is still very much work in progress, but already has an impressive compatibility list.

The main improvement that the team have touted are a series of updates that fix AMD proprietary driver related rendering glitches.

In their latest tweet, they showcase a fix for “rainbow-colored textures” while using AMD drivers in Zelda BotW. The patch also fixes cases where textures do not render at all in games such as Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, as seen on the screenshots below.

The team’s latest progress report, published two weeks ago on their blog, shows that many more graphical glitches have been fixed on AMD GPUs in recent code commits. Those of you encountering these issues should definitely update.
