PS Vita Release: The World Ends with You Solo Remix (Port by Hatoving) – FuHEN contest entry
I keep having to catch up with FuHEN PS Vita Homebrew contest releases! Developer Hatoving (whom you might remember from his Vita port of Monument Valley) released this port of the World ends with you for PS Vita earlier this week, based on the Android version.
What is “The World ends with you Solo Remix” for PS Vita
The World Ends with You -Solo Remix-, known in Japan as It’s a Wonderful World -Solo Remix- (すばらしきこのせかい -Solo Remix- Subarashiki Kono Sekai -Solo Remix-), was an iOS and Android port of The World Ends with You. The World Ends with You is an action role-playing game initially developed for the Nintendo DS, set in the modern-day Shibuya shopping district of Tokyo.
The game was released on August 27, 2012 for iOS devices. An Android port was released on June 25, 2014. However, -Solo Remix- was made unavailable for purchase for 64-bit device owners on the Google Play store on July 31, 2021. On July 19, 2023, the Android port was delisted and IOS version followed suit on July 27, 2023. The game is no longer available on any storefront.
-Solo Remix- was used as the coding basis for the Nintendo Switch rerelease, The World Ends with You: Final Remix.

The game is a Action-RPG developed by Square Enix and Jupiter, originally made for the Nintendo DS. The Android port was done by h.a.n.d.
Complete the mission…or face erasure. That’s all Neku knows after regaining consciousness in the middle of a busy intersection without his memories. Now he and his partner must fight to survive a life-or-death game in this twisted tale with more turns than the urban labyrinth of Tokyo they’re trapped in.
Controls
Use the touchscreen on your PS Vita. That’s it. You can press X to skip cutscenes.

Installation instructions
From the developer:
There are two ways to get the files for the game in order to play it; one for the Nintendo DS version and one for Mobile version, which this port is based off of.
- Create a folder on your Vita at ux0:data/ called “TWEWY”. This is mandatory so that the game can save your progress.
- Get the patch files for whichever version you have here (warning, the patch files are around ~700 MB, so save up space): for mobile version, patch_mobile.zip or for DS version, patch_ds.zip
- Extract the .ZIP file somewhere and place the files you need (for the DS, the rom, and for the mobile version the extracted OBB file in a directory).
- Launch the batch file and follow the instructions.
- Copy over the contents of the .ZIP file the batch created over to the game directory (ux0:app/NEKU28350/Media).
- Have fun!
