PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro update to firmware 10.50

The new firmware of the PlayStation 5 console also brings with it a new version of the firmware for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro consoles , albeit less substantial.

For some time now we have been seeing a simultaneous release for both units, whether it is PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 , although it seems that there are no correlations.

The update still introduces the ability to access authorized apps, the ability to use Unicode 15.0 emojis within messages, and see which players in your session are playing on other platforms.

Changelog

  • You can now access your whitelisted apps in  Settings .
    • Whitelisted apps are third-party apps and services that you’ve linked your PlayStation Network account to. When you use an authorized app, you consent to sharing your account data with that app.
    • To view and manage your authorized apps, go to  Settings  >  Account Management  >  Authorized Apps , then scan the QR code with your mobile device.
  • Active friends on the PlayStation App will now appear as online in your friends list.
  • You can now view Unicode 15.0 emojis.
  • For games that support this feature, you can see which players in your game session are on other platforms.

Apparently the Mast1c0re exploit doesn’t work, at least not at the moment. As always, it is recommended not to update if you do not want to lose the possibility of executing exploits or vulnerabilities that have not yet been disclosed.
