[PS3 Scene] Control Console API v2.80 Rev11 RTE Compatible with Custom Firmware 4.90 CEX Released

The new and eagerly awaited update of CCAPI  (Control Console API) has been published, the application developed by the French developer Enstone allows us to connect the PC  to the  PS3  through the  Target Manager  (TMAPI) as is the case for DEX consoles.

 

 

For the uninitiated, this homebrew allows us to connect the  PC  to the  PS3  through the  Target Manager  (TMAPI) as is the case for DEX consoles. The great strength of this homebrew is that it works not only for DEX consoles  , but also for  CEX (CCAPI) consoles.

From version 2.80 of the program, the developer has introduced a new VSH menu that will allow us to perform various more or less useful functions, such as displaying information in the lower right corner (temperature, model, etc.), or changing idps and psid. To display the CCAPI menu just press the + combo .

You can also choose to download the brand new CCAPI Console Manager Android application from the Google Play Store . This utility will allow you to perform all the functions directly from your Smartphone or Tablet.

Loading VSH modules

  • Create a directory called /dev_usb000/ and pluginsinsert all the plugins you want inside it, they should be named:
  • /dev_usb000/plugins/prx_name1.sprx
  • /dev_usb000/plugins/prx_name2.sprx
  • …

All sprx plugins that are present in this folder will be loaded when you start your PS3. There is no maximum number of sprx plugins that can be loaded, just that you don’t have to load a lot of them because otherwise some games might not be loaded.

The  SPRX files  will then be used through the VSH and therefore it will be possible to manage them at any time (even during the game session), as a sort of PRX Loader  or new core .

Install/Uninstall

  1. Download the package.
  2. Copy the PKG file to the root of a USB.
  3. Insert the USB pendrive into the PS3 and install the PKG file.
  4. Launch the new icon you will end up in the XMB.
  5. The PS3 will restart by itself. Wait about  40 seconds and the message ” Control Consol API 2.80 made by Enstone ”  will appear .
  6. Enjoy now you have full access to the PS3 and you can use the Tool included in the Package on your PC.
  7.  If we wanted to uninstall it just rerun the PKG file.

 

The program works only on the CEX version of the Custom Firmware 4.90, do not install on the PEX version, however if something goes wrong the only risk is having to reinstall the Custom Firmware.

Warning: Do not install on PlayStation 3 consoles running HEN, it will brick the console.
