[PS5 Scene] PS5 BD-JB ELF Loader v1.6.2 released

Published a new update for PS5 BD-JB ELF Loader , the ISO exploits vulnerabilities discovered in the BD-J layer of firmware 4.51 and earlier versions of the PlayStation 5 console .

A distinctive aspect of this exploit mode is that it can be performed completely offline (intranet), provided you have a PlayStation 5 console with an optical drive.

This release includes an ELF file loader update and implemented through a BD-J Xlet that starts a socket server on ports 9020 and 9025.

This socket server allows you to read ELF and JAR executable files transmitted over a TCP connection. Port 9020 is used for ELF files, while port 9025 is used for JAR files.

This feature allows users to transfer and execute such files through TCP connection using specified ports.

The Xlet exploits a privilege escalation vulnerability discovered by developer TheFlow , which was later reproduced for the PS4 console by Sleirsgoevy .

In order to evade the Java sandbox, Xlet uses this vulnerability to disable the security manager using a technique discovered by Sleirsgoevy .

In the current version, PS5 BD-JB ELF Loader introduced support for position-independent code linked payloads.

This means that payloads can now run anywhere on the system or device, without being limited to a specific location.

This flexibility allows users to execute the desired code in a more versatile way, without depending on fixed or predefined paths.

To compile the source code, specific commands are available for Debian-based operating systems, which install the necessary dependencies and clone the project repository. Next, we compile and install the necessary tools.

Hitachi-LG BU40N Internal UHD Blu-Ray/DVD…

  • Silent Play: Reduces noise from spinning disc when playing movies
  • It supports 3D Blu-ray Disc Playback
  • Supports BDXL (100GB Triple Layer) Discs
  • Jamless Play: Smooths playback of damaged Blu-Ray or DVD discs

A usage example is also provided, where a BD-RE ISO file named “helloworld.iso” is created. We recommend using a Hitachi-LG BU40N burner, known for its compatibility with Sony consoles, to burn the ISO image onto a Blu-ray disc.
